The Week of Charity
The Week of Charity is an annual streaming project for a good cause! During one week, members of our group will alternate streaming all kinds of activities while collecting donations. We have a diverse program: In addition to various video games, special events like Dungeons and Dragons and quiz shows are also on the agenda! What is shown where and when, as well as the links to our VODs, can be found in our schedule.
Our project first launched in 2021 and supports an organization of our choice every year! You can support the project during the week by donating during our streams as well as buying merchandise from our store! Our share of the revenue goes directly towards the charity. We hope you enjoy our streams!
Our Projects
Islamic Relief
For the Week of Charity's fifth iteration, we have worked together with Islamic Relief, collecting donations for emergency relief in Gaza. This internationally recognized charity works closely with local communities in need and has formed strong bonds of trust. As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continually worsens, the local population depends on organisations such as Islamic Relief supplying them with aid such as food and medicine. Islamic Relief has already distributed over 13 million warm meals and provided medical assistance to over 2 million people. In addition, they cooperate with the UN World Food Programme. Their psychosocial assistance is also essential, especially for children. Thanks to your support, we raised over 4200€ for emergency relief in Gaza!
EXIT-Deutschland
For the fourth instance of the Week of Charity, we decided to collect donations for EXIT-Deutschland! EXIT-Deutschland is an initiative that has been helping people to break away from the right-wing extremist movement for over 20 years. Among other things, EXIT-Deutschland monitors various right-wing extremist movements and works on prevention, intervention, victim protection and the resocialization of people willing to leave. They also offer help to people who are associated with right-wing extremists. Thanks to the community, we were able to surpass all previous years and collect over 5400€ for this good cause!
Tierheim Berlin
For the third run, all of our donations went to the Tierheim Berlin. A total of 1300 animals, from rodents, dogs and cats to farmyard animals and exotic species, are housed, cared for and nursed back to health there. As this is not only very emotionally demanding, but also requires considerable financial resources, we decided to support this organization. Thanks to your support, we were able to raise over 2640€ for the animal shelter!
Queere Vielfalt leben
For our second gathering in 2022 we chose the incentive of the LGBTQ+ youth dormitory by Queere Vielfalt leben. The project supports the queer youth and gives them a sensitive and loving accomodation in Cologne. The young queer people will be guided by social workers to discover their identity and to be able to live by themselves. Workers and young people from the project even joined our streaming team and contributed to our streams by playing online games with us! At the end we were able to gather over 3500€, which were used to renovate the basement of the dormitory.
LSVD⁺ – Federation Queer Diversity
The LSVD⁺ – Federation Queer Diversity was the first organization we supported through our Week of Charity 2021. The LSVD⁺ is a civil rights association which campaigns for the rights and interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people. Our donations went specifically to the Covid Aid Africa project, in which the LSVD⁺ and local partners supported queer people in Africa who, as a minority, are often particularly affected by crisis situations. They are scapegoated for virus outbreaks, which increases hatred towards them and causes them to lose their jobs or family support faster than others. There was also a lack of critical goods such as masks, disinfectants and hygiene products. To support these people, we were able to raise an incredible 2500€ in total at our first ever WoC thanks to your help!
